Main purpose of the job:
The British Embassy Prague is now offering an internship opportunity for a highly motivated university student who will join the award-winning Press & Public Affairs team for six months and work with the team to build an even better public image for the Embassy and the Ambassador.

Roles and responsibilities:
The Press & Public Affairs (PPA) team is a crucial team at the Embassy that works directly with the Ambassador and provides support for the whole Embassy.
Key roles and responsibilities of the chosen candidate will include:
- Assisting with creating engaging and relevant content for the Embassy’s social media (X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Assisting with media interviews, events and conferences.
- Assisting the PPA team with various public diplomacy projects and PR campaigns.
- Assisting with arranging photo/video-opportunities, event management, stakeholder mapping and research.
- Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Our ideal candidate shows:
- Fluency at a minimum of C1 level in English and Czech, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*;
- Interest in media and communications work and willingness to learn more about the field;
- Understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram;
- A creative mindset and a can-do attitude.
- Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Nice to have:
- Currently pursuing a university degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations or similar.
- Experience supporting the organisation of media interviews, events or conferences.

Other benefits and conditions of employment
This is a part-time internship position for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension for a further six months. The maximum total duration of the internship is therefore 12 months.
The average weekly working hours will be 18.75. The contract will be issued under a Dohoda o pracovní činnosti (DPČ) agreement, in accordance with Czech labour law.
The Embassy’s working hours are Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00, with a flexible working hours arrangement in place.
The hourly gross salary is 152 CZK.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check, security clearance, and medical check.
Applicants must already hold valid authorisation to work in the Czech Republic in order to be eligible to apply.
Locally recruited staff at the British Embassy in the Czech Republic are employed under Terms and Conditions of Service in accordance with Czech employment legislation.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently possess the independent right to live and work in the Czech Republic and be prepared to maintain this status for the duration of the contract.
